This policy explains how Kent Removals Ltd uses personal information that reaches us through this website, and while we quote for and carry out removals, packing and storage in Kent and beyond.

Who is responsible for your data

Information we collect

Quote requests

The details you enter on the quote form: your name and contact details, where you are moving from and to, the type and size of property, and, if you add them, a moving date and notes. We use them to reply to your enquiry and, if you book, to do the job.

Calls, emails and surveys

What you tell us and the contact details you use. At a survey we also note the volume of goods and the access at each address, such as the stairs, the lane and where a vehicle can park.

Storage customers

The inventory of stored goods, the storage agreement and the contact details we need to reach you. Because we must confirm who you are before releasing goods, we keep these for as long as we hold the goods, and for a period afterwards for accounts and any claim.

Visitors to the website

Ordinary server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) and, if analytics is switched on, aggregate figures on which pages are visited. We use no advertising trackers and do no cross-site profiling.

Our lawful reasons

• Responding to you. You contacted us, and a reply is what you expect.
• Carrying out a contract. Once you book, we need your details to do the move.
• Legitimate interests. Keeping records of quotes and jobs, protecting our crews and vehicles, and learning which parts of the site help people.
• Legal duties. The law sets how long accounting and tax records must be kept.

Protecting the form from spam

Our quote form uses Google reCAPTCHA to filter out automated submissions. It receives technical information from your browser and is covered by Google's own privacy terms.

Who we share it with

• Companies that host this website and our email, acting only on our instructions.
• Our insurers, if a claim is made.
• Customs authorities and customs agents on a move to France, Spain, Italy or Portugal, because clearance depends on the inventory and your residence documents.
• Our accountant, and anyone the law requires us to tell.

We never sell your details, and we do not pass them to other removal companies or to lead-generation services. If we suggest a local firm for a move inside one town, we give you their contact details; we do not give them yours.

How long we keep it

If an enquiry does not lead to a booking, we keep it for a reasonable time in case you come back to us, and then delete it. Records of jobs we carry out are kept for as long as accounting, insurance and the claims process require. Storage records are kept while we hold your goods and for a period after they are delivered.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or receive it in a portable format. Email hello@kent-removalsltd.co.uk and we will respond within the time the law allows.

A few records cannot be deleted on request, such as the inventory for goods we are still storing, or accounts we are legally required to keep. If that applies, we will tell you why. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies

We set no advertising or marketing cookies. If analytics is enabled, it uses measurement cookies that count visits and page views in total; blocking them does not stop the site working.

Updates to this policy
